Command Medical

Command Medical, a US-capital company dedicated to the manufacture of disposable medical devices, started operations in Nicaragua in 2005. Command is one of the main companies that manufactures medical devices under the free zone system in Nicaragua. Currently, the company manufactures needles, catheters, cannulas and general surgical devices, mainly exported to the United States

David Slick, President of Command Medical, stressed the important role played by the Nicaraguan workforce in the success of this type of company, underlining its high productivity. Slick also pointed out that low turnover and absenteeism are key factors for the proper functioning of this industry. He also acknowledged education as a pivotal factor when choosing a new investment destination: “People in this country are educated; everyone who works in the factory has at least a bachelor’s degree; they are productive and have a great ability and desire to learn new things.”
