Command Medical, a US - capital company dedicated to the manufacture of disposable medical devices, started operations in Nicaragua in 2005. It is one of the main companies that manufacture medical devices under the Free Zone System in Nicaragua.

David Slick, President of Command Medical, stressed the important role played by the Nicaraguan workforce in the success of this type of companies. He acknowledged education as a pivotal factor when choosing a new investment destination: “People in this country are educated; everyone who works in the factory has at least a bachelor’s degree; they are productive and have a great ability and desire to learn new things.”
